1100 years of sustainable production

Ever since the Vikings came to the village of Leirvík in 9th century, the Housefields have been specialising in production and the Housefield farm has been handed down through the generations.

The first written stories about the Housefield’s are about Upsala Pætur at around 1725. He came from the neighbouring village of Klaksvík to marry the farmers daugter. He was a big man and very fond of the fantastic meat of the Housefield farm. It’s quality was renowned and has made it’s way in to the history books.
